Lough Cullen can fish well from early April onwards with small black fly patterns. This stretch has some nice pools for both bait and fly fishing. The name Foxford Shrimp would suggest that it worked well in Foxford. It has a pattern of rocks running parallel to the bank, which provide great lies for the large spring salmon. On the River Moy, a new facility for disabled anglers has been opened in March 2019 by Ministers Michael Ring and Sean Canney. On the lower part of the river (below Workhouse Bridge) the fishing is free from the Easkey Bridge (in the village) down to the sea. It fishes best for spring fish during April and May.
